Dorset Holiday September 2019 pt1 West Bay

Early in September we went on holiday down to Dorset,  this was the last holiday with Mollster as it turned out ,as we have lost her after an accident while running on the beach after coming home.

Parked up for an overnight stay near Torquay, the forecast for tomorrow is dreadful though!

                                                        Wonderful light just before sunset.

In the morning we have driven into Torquay to visit Kents Caverns.

The "Face"   inside Kents Caven   Torquay ,   it was torrential rain all day so didn't get to walk around the town unfortunately.

                                                                          5dsr, 17-40L

We have now driven down to West Bay for the next step of our travels,  the rest of the day has been torrential rain.    But tomorrow is looking good .
We are staying for 2 nights  in the holiday park near the marina.

In the morning we are walking along the cliffs and down onto the beach with the Terrible Twosome
The light and clouds are great, I should have brought the drone, but I thought it was too windy!

That was a great morning on the beach,   now for sunset I have come down on my own past the harbour and onto the beach below the fabulous cliffs.

                                                           5dsr  17-40 L  f14  1/5 th second.

I have climbed up to the top of East Cliff to fly the drone , to get the last rays of the setting sun illuminating the mighty cliffs .  Just what i wanted to shoot .

                                                                   21 frame panorama.

Walking back through the marina to go back to the van the sky lit up!  in the wrong place for any other images but quite like this one .

Tommorow we are heading to the Durdle Door campsite for 3 days.

Cornwall Holiday Holywell bay july 12/13 th

Arriving at Holywell we have decided to drive down to the beach car park and give the dogs a run and swim  before heading up the road to the Crossroads campsite ,  Mol heard the "beach" word, lol .

A couple minutes walk across to the dunes and  the Terrible Twosome are already hunting for the ball.

First view of Gull Rock , always love this view , its fairly windy and with a high tide the sea is quite rough . Plenty of surfers out from the surf school.

Straight into the sea, they do love the water.

The sea is quite rough  so I am keeping the ball fairly close in, don't want a back current taking them out , Chester couldn't get the ball in his mouth and has been dragged out a bit further than is safe.

The large wave has gone over his head !

He has paddled close in now, just as another wave approaches...…..

It has actually pushed him right up onto the beach   ….

Awwww  he looks like a drowned rat!

A Selfi in the sun .

That's it for now,  we will head to the Campsite now and I will head back to the beach for sunset tonight.

Durdle Door September 2016 pt 1

Catching up on a few images from last year , we stayed at the Durdle Door caravan site.

Durdle Door from the beach , long exposure

                                                                   "Man - o - War" bay

Getting dark now , so quite long exposures  , 2 minutes

Close up of the rocks , it was quite dark at this point.

The following day we went to Old Harrys Rocks

A long exposure of 30 seconds with Lee Big stopper  to give cloud movement.

Durleston Country park and i only managed to find one wasp spider , it was quite breezy so most images were slightly soft ,   note to self -  use 5d2 next time instead of 5dsr!

9 frames focus stacked , hand held

"Man - 0 - War" bay  with the Terrible Twosome

The Door nearing sunset long exposure

Looking towards Bat Head at sunset

Sunset , but it faded very quickly before could get any decent exposures after sundown
