Trevellas Cove and Bedruthan Steps july 10 th 2018

This morning Trevellas cove is our first destination, it is right next to Trevaunance cove where dogs are not allowed on the beach, so after a tricky drive down narrow lanes we have parked near to Wheal Kitty mine and are walking down to the cove . I have spotted this beautiful Emperor moth caterpillar crossing the road, a couple of quick shots before continuing on .

Arriving at the cove, a new bridge has been constructed over the stream entering the beach.

Time to fly,  but keeping very close and low due to a nearby small airfield.

The coastline around here is stunning!

                                                             Topdown over the pinnacles

                                                                   9 frame panorama

Walking back to the car now, past the old mine ruins.

Tonight I will be revisiting Bedruthan Steps again, the tide will be lower so can get down onto the sand.  and hopefully shoot some topdown shadow images with the drone.

A phone shot taken from the steep steps leading down to the beach...………….

Down on the beach its a lovely warm sunny evening, with long shadows.

Topdown drone shot over one of the large pinnacles , love the long shadow.

A phone shot of lovely light on this rock, camera images didn't work due to swirling water around the tripod.   one up for the phone   lol

Rock arch heading towards the far end of the beach.

                                                                   Topdown waves

Looking down the beach from the far end.
The best light has already past, I missed the lovely warm glow on the cliffs I shot earlier in the week.

                                                                    Sunset phone image

Walking back towards the car now, no cloud meant no chance of a decent sunset tonight.

Cornwall pt3 Boscastle and Port Issac

Today we are on our way to Boscastle , it is up the coast past Tintagel and Port Issac , where we will stop off later this afternoon on the way back.
Last time we were here I had the my favourite ice creme flavour   "Lime"    cant wait to get some this morning .
Clear blue sky and its very warm already, Poor Chester wont like it …..

We are walking around the right hand side of the harbour to walk up to the top of the headland above.

Fabulous view from up here. Last time we visited we walked around the left side of the harbour up to the lookout post opposite us now.

                                                             A Multi frame Vertorama.

                                                                9 Frame drone panorama.

Looking across to the lookout post .

Flying further up the coastline for a quick image.

Awwww   poor Chester suffering in the heat!

                                                                   Happy  Mollster

On way back down now , time to get an ice creme.

Having found the ice creme shop , Gutted!!!!   no Lime ice creme .  I have been looking forward to it for months .
Fed up now!

Time to leave now and head towards Doc Martins village   Port Issac.
We have been here numerous times but never managed to fly the drone as it has always been too windy, but today its looking great, except no clouds in the sky.

Having parked at Port Gaverne which is just around the headland ,we have walked around and through through the village up onto the hills overlooking the harbour.    this is a phone shot of  the view  across the harbour.

                                                                            Take off!

Just got up in the air in time to catch this boat sailing out of the harbour!   YAY!

A full view of Port Issac and around to Port Gaverne .

                                                               Looking towards Port Gaverne .

                                                           Multi frame Vertorama

Cornwall evening at Fistral & Pentire Head

Tonight we are Walking the Holywell Horrors on Fistral beach ,  I am going to fly the drone at the far end of the beach at the hotel end a bit later.

Long shadows already , looks like its going to be a nice warm evening.

Jan has gone swimming while I look after the dogs.
After half hour they are getting tired, and we are now at the end of the beach near the rocks below the hotel , time to fly!

Up in the air, great view of the Hotel and Newquay bay behind.  Tide is on its way in now and nice rollers coming up onto the beach.

A 9 frame panorama, automatically shot by the drone . the frames have been stitched together in Lightroom.

                                                                   7 frame Vertorama

One last image then we must go back to the car to drive around the headland to Pentire Point for sunset, its not going to be a good one as there is no cloud in the sky but I might be able to catch the nice light before sundown.

Newquay bay on the left, Fistral on the right, you can see why its such a good beach for surfing, large shallow and wide open to the sea.

We have driven around to Pentire Head now,  Crantock beach is on the right in this image, with Fistral on the left side.         The low setting sun is giving nice light on the rocks and the sky is just showing a bit of subtle colour.

Top down over the small rocky island ,the low setting sun is illuminating the rock bringing out the colours.

One last image before I bring the drone back, my last battery is getting low now and the sun has set too low to produce any more good light.

Tomorrow we are going to visit Boscastle and Port Issac.
