Summer Holiday pt1 Burnham on sea/weston super mare July 4th-

On thursday 4th july Jan, Chester, myself and the Mollster departed for our summer holiday to Cornwall, taking the caravan down to st Austell  but stopping off at Burnham on sea for a stop over to break up the journey. we arrived at the Dutch cottage camp site late afternoon , a really superb quiet site well maintained with mown pitches :)

After setting up the caravan and small awning we drove to Burnham- on- sea promenade , had fish & chips then decided to run the dogs on the beach, the nearest dog friendly area was further up the coast at Brean .

The sun was setting already but it was not too cold , the forecast for next week in Cornwall was to be a heat wave :)

                                                                      Here they come!

Mollster appears to be tired already haha

The sun has almost disappeared behind Brean Down .

Friday morning and the suns out and its starting to get much warmer, we decide to visit Sand Point at Weston -super-mare for a walk. might even see a few butterflies :)
When we get here its hot and sunny  , makes a change!

Walking in the long grass , a beautiful morning for a walk.  its a little late in the season for Glanville fritillaries which are found here in small numbers but i will have a good look for one!

Just had to photograph this wild rose :)

i have just spotted a couple of Marbled whites , having chased this one for a while i have managed to get a shot.   we dont have this species near home so its great to see them , so beautifully marked.

"Peak a boo Mollster"   im being watched  lol

a nice open wing shot , there are quite a few of these i can see, all look fairly freshly emerged

That's right Moll, posing with the island "Flat holm" behind in the distance

i have just shot Molly's portrait , beautiful girl :)

Me and the Mollster with "steep Holm" in the distance behind me

We have walked right around sand point, no sign of the Glanvilles but a great warm sunny day to be out . back at the car park there is an ice creme van waiting  how good is that :)

we are now heading to the beach at Sand Bay to give the dogs a run .

having arrived Chester does what Chester always does :D      HAHA

and now Mollster joins him!   Arghhhhhh

Thats the first two days of our holiday, next stop Cornwall tommorow
