Bedruthan Beach and Hartland Quay

Our last morning at the Bedruthan campsite, this afternoon we are heading back into Devon to Hartland ,hopefully to shoot a sunset .

Time for a last run on the beach for the Terrible Twosome.

The tide is out but on its way in, so the waves are getting bigger out past the shallow water . not that the dogs care.

The Drowned Rat look for Mollster.

                                                         Mad looking Chester,  haha

Just cannot keep her out of the water, even when on the lead!

The steps,   a long steep way up to the top now.

They are drying off in the sun, both knackered by looks of it.  We will be leaving late afternoon to get to Hartland an hour or so before sunset.

We have now driven up into Devon to Hartland Quay , I want to photograph sunset before we head home tomorrow.

There is a old ship wreck in the car park.

Up with the drone now as its about half hour before sunset,  nice light with thin cloud diffusing the sun at the moment.

                                                           A five frame Vertorama.

Low altitude shot of the same area.

Hartland Point lighthouse is over on the far left in this image.

Out over the sea looking across the bay over the hotel and looking towards st Catherine's tor in the middle of the image.  5 frame Vertorama .

Full 9 frame panorama of this stunning coastline.

There are some big waves hitting the rocks in front of the hotel.

Vertorama of the rock formations . The sun has almost set now, so time to land and get the dslr camera out for some long exposure images.

I have set up the dslr out now for a few images but don't think the sunset is going to come to much, and the tide is way higher than I needed to shoot the rock strata in front of the hotel.

                                                                      15 seconds  f14

One last image ,i couldn't get down to where i had planned so this is shot from the wall above the beach.

That is the end of a fabulous holiday in Devon and Cornwall...…………….

Cornwall Holiday Changing Light Bedruthan Sunset July 15 th

A lazy day today, a short walk along the cliffs in the morning, big stormy looking clouds have not produced any rain so that's a bonus .

I have spotted loads of Burnett moths all along the cliff tops.

                                                                       A Gatekeeper.

Its sunset time,   time to get the drone up, the cloud is looking a bit too thick for decent colour, and its fairly dark even before the sun has set.

I have just caught the sun as it is just above the horizon reflecting across the sea .

Just about to fall below the horizon now.

Beautiful soft light now, and the sea has a lovely colour.

Great looking clouds in the direction of Newquay right now.

                                                  Another   Vertorama , 5 frames .

There is just a small narrow band of colour on the horizon, pity there is so much thick cloud tonight.

There are some big waves rolling in now as the tide is rushing in.

The light is fabulous, strong colour this long after sundown .  and all the photographers that were down on the beach have long gone!

A quick shot with the dslr .

The end of a fabulous evening shooting...………..

Cornwall Holiday Crantock beach the Kelsey Head july 14 th

It is Sunday morning, and as its going to be very busy down on the beach on this warm sunny day we have driven  down to Crantock beach early before it gets busy , the tide is on the turn so its a long walk out to get to the waterline across the sands.     This is a stunning Cornish beach , with crystal clear shallow water  and the dogs love it !

Finally after negotiating the stream and all the sandhollows we are at the sea,   the Terrible Twosome are straight in the water swimming.

                                                                           Mad spanner!

Chester is going way out after the ball, the waves are getting bigger as the tide is now on the way in.

The tide is racing in over the shallow sand, and we are walking backwards while knee deep in the waves .   Look at the water clarity, amazing!

                                                                         Drowned Rat!

Time to go now, they have had a good long time in the sea, now to go back to the campsite for the afternoon.

They don't look like they want to leave!
There is already a que to get into the NT carpark, and getting the van up the narrow lane with loads of cars was a bit of a struggle, good job we came early!

Its early evening now, time to walk down across the Kelseys and get a drone flight in over Poly Joke and west Pentire head.
Its a nice easy walk from the Crossroads campsite over to the headland and the beach locally known as PolyJoke, its a warm evening with only a slight breeze.

Up with the drone, Over to  the left is Pentire and Crantock, with Fistral just visible in the distance behind ,West Pentire head and PolyJoke beach in front.

The Chick Island in front of Kelsey head.  9 frames merged

A different perspective of the same view.    9 frames merged.

5 frame Vertorama , lovely cloud but it isn't colouring up unfortunately.

Topdown over the edge of Poly joke beach.

Crantock on the left , Poly Joke on the right.

Another 5 frame Vertorama ,  not sure It has worked to well.
But it shows Crantock beach well.

I'm out of batteries , a quick shot of the sunset which has suddenly coloured up momentarily before losing all the colour completely within a couple of minutes!

The end of another great day in Cornwall...…………….
